Kate Shuttleworth is a business woman, entrepreneur, raconteur, bon vivant, who attended the University of Natal (Faculty of Law) and the University of Life (MSc Hard Knocks D Phil Survival) published author of romance and aficionado of happiness.
Kate Shuttleworth started Marvellous Maids® literally from scratch. In her own words “I did not have a clue, never mind a business plan – in fact to give a frank account, I did not even have a bank account.”
Kate recognized the need for a professional household staffing agency 13 years ago. Marvellous Maids® is now a national household name and thousands of families now employ household help introduced to them using the marvellous methods and strict screening procedures devised by Kate Shuttleworth and the invaluable placement packages complete with contracts, induction booklets and disciplinary procedures.
Kate’s understanding that in order to effect the successful placement of one housekeeper and to satisfy the specifics of a particular household, hundreds of candidates need to be on a data base and careful, insightful selection of candidates has fashioned her approach to the Kingdom of Hearts™.
Kate won the Top Women in Business and Government Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008 and is recognized in the Nedbank Book of South African Women.
The passion that Kate has displayed in positioning Marvellous Maids® and South Africa’s Premier Domestic Agency will now be directed with full force towards the Kingdom of Hearts.
Karen Mooney – Our Consult General in the UK
The Kingdom of Hearts™ is delighted to introduce the doyenne of Introduction Agencies, our Duchess of Dating, the incomparable Karen Mooney, Founder and Director of Sara Eden Introductions, established in 1988.
Prior to establishing Sara Eden Introductions, Karen worked in the Royal Protection Department. Fittingly, her London offices are around the corner from Buckingham Palace and her Windsor office across the road from Windsor Castle.
Her offices boast walls of wedding photographs and she has files of grateful letters. Sara Eden was described by the Financial Times as “The Platinum card end of the spectrum for service” and by the Mail on Sunday as having “A stunning success rate … countless long term relationships”.
Karen is the Press Officer of the Association of British Introduction Agencies (ABIA) where she previously served as Vice Chairman and has featured in the national UK press, radio and television. Her satisfied clients number thousands; indeed she has been the romantic catalyst behind more than 1000 marriages.
Sara Eden Introductions and the Kingdom of Hearts™ will be working closely to offer love and friendship across the ocean for more adventurous members in our new initiative Colonial Connections. Karen’s assistance in establishing the Kingdom of Hearts™ as well as her ongoing mentorship and support have, and we are sure will continue to be, invaluable.

Susan Fall (in love, we hope). One of the best Marvellous Maids franchisees ever, Susan has joined Kate to assist her in delivering a top class service. Susan previously ran the iconic Kirstenbosch and Suikerbossie Restaurants together with her husband Brian.
